Been meaning to upload the for while, ever since I was no longer limited to 10 min length vids.

It's not my favorite painting... It was a literal "speed painting" done in 2007 in about an hour (give or take a few minutes) ... No pre-sketch- no planning-- just sitting down and doing it. It came out... "okay"... I guess. But for some reason, it is the one and only video of mine that went viral and surpassed 5 million views. It has received 2 very critical comments/complaints-- first that I drew the bottom jaw too big by attempting a crazy exaggerated perspective. And then the huge doubt that anyone could paint such a thing in an hour.
While I consider it compliment when people doubt that it can be done, I do want to make sure that serious young artists-to-be out there that I am not a deceiving person. :-) It would be pretty silly for me to have some insecure need to "lie" about my abilities after getting this far in my career as a commercial artist.

I am mostly hired to do very high-speed art for advertising in animation/animatics/storyboards. We are talking 1-2 day turn arounds for batches of frames that require detail as tight as this video shows. With that in mind, the reality is 1 hour is TOO LONG. 20 minutes would be more acceptable, especially if you have 20 frames due in a day. (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxmIvIaYU7o )

And, yes... I realize the jaw looks weird to some. But it is exactly how I wanted to depict it. ;-) It's a fictitious crazy scifi made up creature.. There is no right or wrong.
