One thing that there are no such restrictions for, however, is birthing and raising a child. You’ve surely seen some pretty glaring examples of bad parenting, as kids pitch a fit in a grocery store or at a restaurant while parents either give in instantly or remain buried in their phones in order to willfully ignore the noise.

Still, that doesn’t compare to some of the awful child-rearing that can be found out there. We live in a world where a mother celebrated her daughter’s seventh birthday by giving the girl a $10,000 voucher for breast augmentation surgery. We have the same adoption rights as a Tennessee woman who sent a seven-year-old boy on a one-way flight to Moscow as a means of ‘giving back’ the boy she adopted from Russia. A South Korean couple was so pre-occupied with raising a virtual child in nearby internet cafes that they neglected their real infant daughter as she starved to death.

Indeed, some people just weren’t cut out to be parents, but that doesn’t mean they necessarily recognize their own weaknesses and lack of responsibility. Typically, what makes poor parents even worse is their complete lack of self awareness. They just don’t seem to get that having a young child to care for means needing to grow up and look out for the best interests of the child. It means providing a role model for your kid to look up to.

Evidently, though, these mothers and fathers missed that memo. How else would you explain these 10 instances that show a glaring lack of judgment and common sense. Not only are these parents displaying tone-deaf signs of inappropriate behavior in the presence of young, impressionable eyes, but they are doing so with the knowledge that a camera is present and that any observer who sees these photos will receive a window into their reckless style of parenting. But hey, I guess if it’s good enough for their tots to see, it’s good enough for the internet as well.
