Korean Geographic | 코리언 지오그래픽 - Ep.10 : Jukbangnyeom, The Weirs of Time (2015.01.02)
Ep.10 : Namhae is an island in Gyeongsangnam-do Province on the southern region of the Korean Peninsula. Jukbangnyeom, or bamboo weirs, are built over the waters for fishing, and generations of fishermen have made their living off of it. These bamboo weirs are the proof of mankind conforming to nature, and a proof of the fishermen’s livelihood.
The harmony between man and nature was captured poetically on camera with the jukbangnyeom anchovy fishermen as the main focus.
