Getting the GX out of a small hill that leads to a fishing spot. I always get out with just the momentum and no special configuration but for the purpose of showing the viewers how the different settings of the 4WD system can help in certain situations, I purposely did this:
1) Got out slow in 4Hi until all four tires locked up (the engine could not provide enough torque to move the tires as all four had grip)
2) Shifted to 4Lo and got the tires moving again but found myself skiding over the bump. 4-Low operates through a much lower gear ratio thus significantly increases the torque being transmitted to the wheels.
3) Engaged the Center difflock to transmit power from the differential that had lost traction to the other one. The center differential locker locks both differentials and get them spining at the same speed. Notice that sice there are no individual differential lockers, although both differentials spin at the same speed, the power in each differential follows the path of minimum resistance thus it goes to the wheels that have less traction.
