Marcelo "Marcelinho" Tieppo Huertas (born 25 May 1983) is a Brazilian professional basketball player for FC Barcelona of the Spanish League. Huertas is also member of the senior men's Brazilian national basketball team. He is a point guard, but he can also play as a shooting guard if needed. He is 1.91 m (6 ft 3 in) tall. He is right handed. He also has Italian citizenship.

Huertas began his career playing with the youth basketball teams of the multi-sports club E.C. Pinheiros in Brazil. After playing high school basketball at Coppell High School in Coppell, Texas, he made his senior men's team debut in the 2001–02 season, with the senior men's team of FMU São Paulo. He then moved to the senior men's basketball team of E.C. Pinheiros, for the 2002–03 season, where he played in the top Brazilian League. He then returned to FMU São Paulo for the 2003–04 season.

Huertas joined the Spanish League club DKV Joventut in 2004, and stayed there until 2007. Next, he moved to the Spanish club Bilbao Basket for the 2007–08 season. He then played with Fortitudo Bologna in the Italian League, during the 2008–09 season. In the August of 2009, he signed a three-year contract with the Spanish League club Caja Laboral.[1] On 9 August 2011, he signed a four-year contract with the Spanish League club Regal FC Barcelona

Huertas has been a member of the senior men's Brazilian national basketball team. With Brazil's senior national team, he won the gold medal at the 2005 FIBA Americas Championship, the 2006 South American Championship, the 2007 Pan American Games, and the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship. He also won the silver medal at the 2011 FIBA Americas Championship.

He also played at the 2006 FIBA World Championship, the 2010 FIBA World Championship, and the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

Marcelo Tieppo Huertas (São Paulo, Brasil, 25 de mayo de 1983) más conocido como Marcelinho Huertas, es un baloncestista brasilo - italiano. Juega de base y su actual equipo es el Regal FC Barcelona. Se formó en la cantera del Paulistano São Paulo.

Es también el número 9 de la Selección de baloncesto de Brasil, con la que ha ganado numerosas medallas.

Dopo i primi anni di carriera in Brasile al San Paolo ed al Pinheiros, senza dimenticare una stagione di high school nel Texas fra il 2000 e il 2001, approda in Spagna nella stagione 2004-05 per vestire la casacca della Joventut Badalona.

Dopo due stagioni alla Joventut nel 2007 viene mandato in prestito a Bilbao e con la maglia dello Iurbentia mette in mostra tutto il suo talento e viene nominato miglior playmaker della Liga ACB (14,6 punti, 2,7 rimbalzi, 3,9 assist ed 1,6 recuperi di media nelle 34 partite di regular season). Proprio in questa stagione trascina la squadra basca fino ai play-off dove pero viene sconfitta 2-0 dal ben più quotato Barcellona.

Dopo la parentesi basca decide di sfruttare la clausola contrattuale di liberarsi per il mercato europeo accettando la proposta della Fortitudo Bologna, con cui firma per due anni più un'opzione su quella successiva.

Dopo una sola stagione in Italia passa però al campionato spagnolo col Saski Baskonia, con cui vince subito uno scudetto, proprio contro il Barcellona che lo aveva eliminato nella sua ultima apparizione ai Playoffs ACB.

Huertas, que joga como armador, faz parte da Seleção Brasileira de Basquetebol, já tendo disputado, entre outros, o Campeonato Sul-Americano Adulto (do qual foi campeão, na Venezuela, em 2006), os Jogos Pan-Americanos (nos quais conquistou a medalha de ouro, no Rio de Janeiro em 2007) e a Copa América de Basquetebol de 2009 (da qual também foi campeão).
