Diyarbakir, the main city in Turkey’s predominantly Kurdish southeast region, has started to benefit from the return of peace for much of the last decade, after being center of a Kurdish rebel conflict. The city has started to enjoy some prosperity and development. But as Dorian Jones reports from Diyarbakir, a recent wave of violent protests has called those successes into question.
